US Platinum 1oz Eagles and the PLAT Market

A pattern emerges in the platinum market, trading above the recent downtrend and actually a lot of confidence and momentum go into a move like this.  On the weekly chart however a lot of positive drive will be required to break and hold the $1030 level in the short to medium turn.  Just my two cents anyway. Nothing complex as mt time is limited.

The way to get into platinum long term is certainly coins.  Before all the power goes out and the zombies rove the land for a decade or so, the etf's might not cash out as well as 99.95% pure platinum. Kidding, but you get the idea.

The spectacular American Eagle coin was release by the US Mint in 1997 after being design by John Mercanti. They feature the head of Lady Liberty on the obverse, symbolizing the American character and spirit. The obverse side of the coin reads "Liberty" and contains the date of issue, and mottoes, "IN GOD WE TRUST," and "E PLURIBUS UNUM." The reverse side of the coin displays the image of a bald eagle soaring across a setting sun.

Platinum American Eagle coins are minted and issued in three different sizes and denominations. The one ounce platinum Eagle has a diameter of 32.7mm, thickness of 2.39mm, and contains one troy ounce of pure .9995 fine platinum. The one ounce coin has a face value of $100, the highest face value of any American coin ever produced. Typically in the industry one ounce platinum Eagles are sold in units of 10 - one ounce coins.
